Spot Custom Writing Service - …

Are the spot custom writing, Democrats totally screwed? Are the Democrats totally screwed ? Are the Democrats totally screwed? The road back to power seems blocked at every turn. You can try to overstate the dire shape the first dom essay, Democratic Party is in, but it’s not very easy. Custom Writing Service? Since 2009, the party has lost control of the essay, Senate, House, most governors’ mansions, and the presidency. It is about to lose the Supreme Court for a generation, and Donald Trump will have incredible latitude to reshape the custom, federal judiciary. The party in first dom essay power tends to lose seats while it controls the presidency, and Democrats were no exception: Between 2009 and 2016, they lost 11 Senate seats, 63 House seats, 13 governorships, and 968 state legislature seats. Even using a more conservative metric of custom writing losses (by comparing the party’s standing from the 2006 midterm), Democratic state legislature seat losses during Obama’s tenure exceeded his predecessors’ (though his performance at the federal level was more in line).

Democrats have unified control (of the legislature and governorship) of six states, while Republicans control 25. What is unique about the first dom essay, current political climate is how Republicans have wielded this power: to structurally shift the political system in their favor by crushing unions, gerrymandering districts, and suppressing votes. Some commentators have expressed a blase attitude toward the custom service, Democratic Party’s future prospects, casting Trump as a nasty setback but little more. For instance, political scientist Philip A. First Dom Essay? Klinkner writes, “Overall, there’s nothing wrong with the Democrats that losing the presidency probably won’t fix.” However, as political scientist Frances Lee shows, there are long periods in which politics has been dominated by one party or another with blowout elections. Democrats, for instance, controlled the House for decades in the ’70s and ’80s before Newt Gingrich famously swept Republicans to custom service, power in the ’94 midterms. First Dom Essay? The idea that a bounce-back is inevitable also ignores one of the spot custom writing service, most important asymmetries between the parties: The Republican Party has no qualms about using its control of states to solidify its power, often in deeply undemocratic ways.

While Democrats puzzle their way back to power, it’s worth understanding the barriers they face. Republicans have begun to shape the truth always, structure of the spot custom writing service, political system in their favor using their control of Statehouses. In 2010, they launched a project called REDMAP (REDistricting MAjority Project), aimed at winning over state legislatures and truth governorships in spot writing order to control the redistricting process. Though gerrymandering often happens, the partisan gerrymanders that Republicans implemented in 2010 are more nakedly partisan than in the past and forced volunteerism overwhelmingly favor the GOP. With Democrats out of power in so many states, they had no way to stop the most egregious gerrymanders before they were implemented.

The legal system takes time to correct these flaws, and in the meantime, the custom writing service, GOP has racked up seats. In 2012, Republicans won 46.9 percent of essay mistakes votes but 53.6 percent of seats. That means, despite Democrats winning 1.4 million more votes than Republicans, they still had a massive, 33-seat deficit. In 2014, Republicans won 50.6 percent of votes but 56.9 percent of seats. In 2016, Republicans won 49.9 percent of the spot custom, votes but 55.2 percent of of us seats. This doesn’t just hold true at the federal level: Republicans have deeply gerrymandered state legislatures.

For instance, in Michigan, Democrats have won more votes in the Statehouse elections in five of the service, seven elections between 2002 and 2014 but won a majority of paraphrase helper seats only spot writing twice. Democrats would need to win power at the state level to reverse the essay, most egregious gerrymanders, but their path forward looks increasingly rocky. Republicans have used their control of spot custom Statehouses to crush unions by truth always win essay passing right-to-work laws and other limitations on union bargaining power. Right-to-work laws allow non-unionized workers in unionized workforces to avoid an agency fee to unions for the purposes of representation and spot writing service bargaining. These laws drain union coffers, impeding their ability to organize. During Obama’s tenure, four new states became right-to-work (Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, West Virginia), all of them states where Democrats were once competitive and first dom essay unions were the backbone of that success. In 2017, following Republican state-level victories, Missouri and Kentucky became right-to-work. Custom Writing? Already, Republicans have floated the idea of a national right-to-work law, which would end private sector unions as we know them.

When Trump adds another conservative to the Supreme Court, it’s likely that it will strike a blow to laws that allow public sector unions’ states to collect “agency fees” from nonunion workers. This has important implications for the Democratic Party and for policy. Political scientists Benjamin Radcliff and Martin Saiz found that the strength of unions in a state is incident report a more powerful determinant of liberal policy in the states than the power of the Democratic Party. Economist James Feigenbaum, an assistant professor at Boston University, studied the spot custom service, impact of right-to-work laws for as-of-yet unpublished research he shared exclusively with The Outline . Incident Book? He analyzed counties at the borders to custom service, two states and found that the passage of policy of us a right-to-work law reduces Democratic vote share by spot writing service 2-4 points in helper presidential elections and 3-5 points in Senate elections. Spot Custom Service? In Iowa, Republicans recently passed laws to gut collective bargaining rights for public sector unions.

The only paraphrase helper person in the room when Gov. Terry Branstand signed the law was Drew Klein, the service, state director of Americans for Prosperity. First Dom Essay? That’s not entirely surprising. Political scientists Hertel-Fernandez and Theda Skocpol found that the presence of a paid Americans for Prosperity (AFP) director in a state increases the likelihood of a state passing laws that reduce public sector bargaining rights by close to 30 points. Custom Writing Service? In a new working paper, Hertel-Fernandez found that the passage of such laws reduces public sector union density by about 5 percentage points and the impact on union revenues is approximately $1.51 per worker. He also found that these laws result in less political activity by policy union members and more conservative policy outcomes.

Given that churches and unions are two of the most powerful organizing forces in spot writing service the country, it’s difficult to see any place that Democrats can recreate this level of organizing. Indeed, many groups designed to do so have withered on always win essay, the vine (and some, like ACORN, were brought to an early grave with help from Democrats). In the wake of spot custom service his election, Obama’s team dismantled the movement that elected him in order to play an inside game (passing laws through deal-making that progressives might find disdainful). Without unions, as the essay life, Democratic Party struggles to compete in states that it used to win, it may become less wedded to economic progressivism. Republicans have also unleashed the custom writing, floodgates of paraphrase helper money into politics, allowing them to spot custom writing, leverage their massive fundraising advantage into state-level victories. A recent study in the journal Political Science and Research Methods by pocket incident report political scientist Andrew Hall found that a fundraising advantage can turn into political power. As he explained, “A 1 percentage-point increase in spot service the Democratic (or Republican) Party’s share of essay all contributions in an electoral cycle is estimated to increase its share of the custom writing service, legislature by roughly half a percentage point.” One study found that the Citizens United decision increased Republican election chances in Statehouse races by 4 percentage points. Another study found a similar effect, and also found the effect is conditioned by the power of labor and paraphrase corporations. In states with weak labor unions, Citizens United bolstered Republican seat share by up to 12 percentage points. The evisceration of unions and rise of money in politics creates a one-two punch, creating a long uphill battle for Democrats. Republicans have aggressively used their state-level power to restrict voting rights.

North Carolina, which once had sterling voting laws (which included early voting, “no excuse absentee” voting, pre-registration for young people, and crucially, same-day registration), rapidly instituted a wave of anti-voting legislation when Republicans gained power in 2010. In a recent court decision, a North Carolina judge said these restrictions targeted black voters with “surgical precision.” (While white turnout increased in North Carolina in 2016, black turnout plummeted.) Recent academic research shows that voter ID laws create racial disparities in turnout and benefit the spot custom, right wing. Previous research showed that these laws are strategically introduced when Republican politicians feel electorally threatened. In the 2016 election, black voter turnout was down from 2012 while white turnout increased — certainly enthusiasm could have played a role, but 2016 is also the first presidential election since a key provision of the essays policy, Voting Rights Act was struck down (which required states with a history of voting rights violations to get pre-clearance before changing their voting laws). Many formerly covered states aggressively restricted voting rights and closed polling locations. While some of these restrictions were stopped in courts, the lack of pre-clearance meant that many were implemented. Political scientist Anthony Fowler found that lower turnout benefits Republicans, and my own research shows that non-voters have more progressive views than voters. As a result of their losses, the Democratic bench looks a lot weaker. State legislators eventually run for higher office, and with Democrats shut out of power, that pipeline has dried up. In diverse states like Florida, where Democrats should be more competitive, the lack of down-ballot candidates is leading to difficulty finding candidates.

In 2014, the deeply unpopular Rick Scott beat Charlie Crist (a former Republican) in spot custom writing service an election that Democrats could have won with a better candidate. First Dom Essay? (Scott won by a point.) In 2016, Democrats ran Patrick Murphy, another former Republican, for the Senate. (He ran 3 points behind Clinton in the state.) This weak bench has led to numerous unqualified and underqualified candidates running under the spot custom writing service, Democratic banner across the country. In Tennessee, Democrats disavowed their own Senate candidate, an anti-gay rights activist who believed that Arnold Schwarzenegger wants to essay life, become president of the United States to “fulfill Hitler’s superman scenario.” When Democrats fail to custom writing service, meaningfully contest a race, they can’t capitalize on report book, Republican slip-ups and service also weaken themselves down-ballot. In 2014, their weak challenger to Brian Sandoval in Nevada (“None of These Candidates” won the Democratic primary) helped contribute to losing the State Assembly. Only one American political party is pocket report committed to writing service, democracy. Democrats have not proven able to essays of us, fight back on custom service, these measures partially from lack of truth trying, partially because of writing service adherence to essay life, democratic norms, and partially from plain bad luck.

But Democrats have had massive unforced errors at the state level. In two of the most progressive states in the country (New York and Washington), rogue Democrats have actually entered into spot, power-sharing agreements to give Republicans control of their state Senates. In New York, this alliance is tacitly enabled by the Democratic Governor, Andrew Cuomo (in Washington, Democrats have worked to unseat the turncoat Democrat, Tim Sheldon). In both of these states, a progressive legislature could be working to implement automatic voter registration, limit the power of corporate cash, and empower unions. First Dom Essay? It’s unlikely that Democrats will be able to respond to spot writing, Republicans in kind.

Democrats have sat on essays on foreign policy, the sideline as unions were decimated — but when they gain power, they should do what they can to repeal right-to-work and other restrictions on unions (though much of the damage will have been done). Democrats won’t ever be able to writing, use voter suppression to their benefit, but they have done very little to increase voter access. New York, for instance, has some of the most restrictive voting laws in the country. Many blue states still have onerous voting restrictions for people convicted of felonies. Democrats need to more aggressively embrace automatic voter registration and first dom essay same-day registration coupled with expansive early voting. To do this, Democrats must overcome their fear of challengers from the left because of more expansive voting rights.

Could Democrats emulate Republicans and use gerrymandering to entrench power when they gain office? Unlikely. Political scientist Matt Grossmann told The Outline that the reformist wing is more interested in leveling the playing field than implementing policies that would structurally benefit Democrats. Political scientists Bernard Groffman and Thomas Brunell argued that another reason Democrats are hesitant to more aggressively gerrymander is spot that they are more concerned with shoring up their own safety than electing more Democrats. In Illinois, Democrats could have drawn a map that netted them an additional two seats but failed to. In some cases, racism played a role, like when districts are drawn with enough black voters to report, ensure a Democratic victory but not enough so that a black candidate could win a primary (a practice called “sandbagging”). The central contradiction of American politics is simple: The current incarnation of the Republican Party cannot retain power in a fully democratic system. Spot Custom Service? As the party veers right, the first dom essay, only way it can retain power is further voter suppression, more gerrymandering, and an even weaker opposition. When Montana considered using an spot writing service, all-mail election to replace Ryan Zinke, the state GOP Chair wrote to his colleagues that “All-mail ballots give the first dom essay, Democrats an inherent advantage in writing close elections” and that he worried about “the long-term viability of our Republican Party” if the state switched exclusively to all-mail elections. Republicans in forced volunteerism essay Georgia, concerned about rising diversity, are currently implementing a rare mid-decade gerrymander to shore up power. Already, Republicans have floated plans to reshape the way Electoral College votes are distributed, essentially gerrymandering the Electoral College.

In North Carolina, they went forward with extraordinary steps to strip the incoming Democratic governor of spot writing service power by reducing the number of volunteerism essay political appointments he could make and ending the spot service, control the governor traditionally had over election boards. First Dom Essay? In Iowa, Republicans gutted collective bargaining rights for public sector unions but nakedly exempted pro-GOP unions like police officers by adding a “public safety” exemption. Spot Custom Writing Service? Across the country, Republicans are introducing legislation to fine or imprison their political opposition. Most jarringly, they have introduced laws that would protect drivers from prosecution for driving into protesters. Volunteerism? To ensure that the floodgates of money remain open and voter suppression goes unchecked, Republicans took the extraordinary step of refusing to hold hearings on the sitting president’s Supreme Court nominee. Democrats are tasked with both implementing their preferred policies and ensuring the United States remains a democratic country. But there are some comforts for Democrats. The out-of-power party tends to become introspective and invest in building long-term power.

Democrats still control California, the sixth-largest economy in the world. Because they have supermajorities in the legislature, Democrats can pursue important progressive policies without Republican interference. Clinton made inroads with college-educated whites, which could help the party avoid a brutal rout in spot custom service the 2018 midterm if Trump’s coalition decides not to show up without him running. If Democrats can win back the large number of governorships up for election in 2018, they can curb the worst abuses going into 2020. The Women’s March on Washington proved that there is an enormous amount of raw political energy to be expended. Life? To be successful, this energy must be channeled into a movement that shows up at the ballot box (and not just on presidential years, protests town halls, contributes to candidates, and even runs for office). Such a movement scares Democrats, who feel more comfortable mediating interests than embracing the uncertainty of a mass, mobilized movement-based politics.

Such a movement will certainly threaten some Democrats. But they have no choice — without a movement, they won’t be able to spot custom writing, overcome the significant barriers Republicans have erected to truth win essay, political organization.

Let’s End the Big 4 or Bust Myth Once and For All. It’s recruiting season on campuses all across America; that special time of year when accounting students get a taste of what it’s like to be a five-star middle linebacker — minus the “hostesses,” envelopes stuffed with cash, and any semblance of athletic ability. For you soon-to-be graduates deciding on your first employer, however, recruiting season isn’t all fancy meals and free pens. It’s stressful, dammit; and generally speaking, the greatest source of consternation is whether the accounting industry boils down to writing service, “Big 4 or Bust.” While I’d love to tell you this distinction is overblown, it’s simply not true. First Dom Essay! Because despite what I’ve been told by a long line of sympathetic yet clearly disappointed women, size really does matter. So with that in writing, mind, should you be eliminating all but four options from your job search? Well, if you go to essays, the Big 4, you’re likely to spot custom writing, make a little more money and work a few more hours, so there’s that. Essay Mistakes Life! The rest of the decision will come down to what kind of custom writing, person you are.

Perception Dictates Reality. My first job was with Arthur Andersen, my second with PwC. I’ve now been with WithumSmith+Brown for ten years, which is nearly double the always, time I spent at my first two stops combined. Yet whenever I’m asked to provide my professional bio, I always manage to shoehorn my experience with the spot service, Big 5 4 into the first two sentences. Why? Because it matters. Right or wrong, the general consensus is while not all of the people at the Big 4 are the brightest in the industry, all of the brightest people in the industry are at the Big 4. Signing on with a KPMG or DT will bring you a level of gravitas that, try as they might, the firms outside the Big 4 simply can’t match.

And as I’ve experienced, even after you’re long gone, the years you spent with the Big 4 will afford you instant credibility, even if, like me, you spent the essays on foreign of us, majority of those days hoarding Cliff Bars from the spot service, breakroom and plotting the murder of your senior manager. Is the perception of the Big 4 as the best of the best fair? Of course not. A lot of that perception was created by first dom essay the big firms beating everyone over the head with just how great they are. Spot Custom Writing! A freestyle rap battle has less obnoxious arrogance and self-congratulation than the first dom essay, standard Big 4 recruiting pitch. Deserved or not, ultimately, perception dictates reality. There’s a reason the majority of spot, CFO and tax director positions require Big 4 experience; the perception is helper that only those who’ve tested their mettle with the big boys are prepared to handle those roles. That’s not to custom writing, say that opting for a smaller firm will eventually disqualify you from all but the mistakes, hottest and writing service noisiest jobs. But the reality is, without the Big 4 on your resume, you may find that some doors are much harder to open. Maybe you don’t want to be a CFO or a tax director. Paraphrase! Maybe your primary concern is finding a job where you can learn as much as possible during your formative years while you figure out if public accounting is for you.

And maybe you prefer to learn via hands-on direction and a lot of personal one-on-one time with your supervisors. If that’s the case, going to a smaller firm is likely a better fit for you. As I wrote above, there is an custom abundance of smart people in the Big 4. The problem, however, is that at mistakes life the giant firms, the spot custom writing service, people who are best positioned to teach you what you need to helper, be successful - the managers — are the least likely to spot custom writing service, have the time to do it. When you’re a manager in the Big 4, it means that you are the essays, point person for a long list of clients, responsible for the detailed review work that partners are too expensive and staff too stupid to do, and you’re supposed to spot custom writing service, bear the burden of developing the next generation. First Dom Essay! It’s the most exhausting activity one can engage in, outside of soccer. Something’s got to give, and because managers are under constant scrutiny as to custom, whether they belong on the partner track, it’s sure as hell not going to paraphrase, be client service or placating the spot custom, decision makers. It’s going to be the development of the manager’s underlings: i.e., you. At a smaller firm, while managers have the same responsibilities as their Big 4 counterparts, competition to make partner isn’t quite as fierce as it is in always win essay, the large firms. Spot Custom Writing Service! In addition, because smaller firms tend to first dom essay, lack the formalized training programs for staff (more on that next), greater emphasis is placed on the managers to develop their staff and seniors. As a result, managers at a regional or local firm should have considerably more time to hold your hand.

Or prefer to be left alone? If, however, you hate dealing with people (like me!) and prefer to learn without one-on-one interaction (like me!) then the bigger you go, the better off you’ll be. Because say what you want about the Big 4, but they have wonderful, formalized training programs. At AA, we would get shuttled off to St. Custom! Charles for a week to learn oodles of pocket book, tax law.

At PwC, we had similar, intensive training weeks that were designed specifically for spot writing service our experience level. And just recently, a former co-worker of mine went to work at EY, and when he asked for win essay some reading material about the niche he would be working within, EY sent him two three-hundred page manuals on the matter, both authored by EY experts. That ain’t happening at a 40-person firm. So if your preferred method of spot custom writing, learning has more to do with reading quietly and less to do with a senior’s coffee breath, head to the Big 4. Protect yourself from yourself. If there’s one recurring theme throughout your twenties, it’s shitty decision making. Trust me when I say that neither your Instagram photos nor your carefully placed tattoo would indicate that you should be trusted with any decision of import.

And this makes going straight to the Big 4 a dicey proposition. Because if you head off to PwC or DT, they’re going to ask you to commit to either audit or tax, despite the rather seemingly important fact that you don’t know anything about win essay, either. Yeah, you can eventually switch if you change your mind, but let’s be honest, if you don’t pull the chute on your first choice within the first six months, you’re not going to spot custom service, want to deal with starting all over again much beyond that. Generally speaking, however, a smaller firm will allow you to dabble in both audit and tax for several years before eventually choosing a focus. Based on my conversations with the young staff at WS+B, this is the essay life, primary reason they landed at a regional firm; to get a feel for where they may find an area of interest within public accounting, rather than being asked to jump in spot custom service, with both feet to untested waters. Essay Life! So if you have lingering doubts about your area of interest, going smaller is your best bet.

If you’re certain that you’ll be involved with tax return prep in some capacity, however, consider whether you would prefer to see the light of day in winter or summer. Spot Writing Service! At smaller firms, getting a return done before the original due date is a badge of honor, so for reasons I can’t comprehend, these firms will typically work you into policy submission from January through April rather than just file a piece of paper that, you knowbuys you an spot custom writing service extra six months. To the contrary, the April 15th tax season in the Big 4 is an afterthought; nearly everything gets extended, which means that while your winter shouldn’t be too stressful, you might find yourself spending Labor Day weekend in the office while your small-firm counterparts are lounging oceanside. I’m a firm believer that everyone should get to feel like a Big Fucking Deal at some point in their life. To throw on a nice suit and eat at a fancy restaurant and wash it all down with a private box at the Knicks game, without spending a dime of your own money. And nobody does luxury like the Big 4. When I was with AA in Denver, people would routinely grab you during the middle of the day to go check out a couple of first dom essay, innings of the Rockies game from the service, firm’s club seats. Every Friday, some partner would open a tab during happy hour to bid farewell to the latest defect. Post-project celebration dinners required tips that with four digits.

I’ll confess: while all this was going on, I felt like the truth win essay, Pope of Chillitown. And you know what? That’s OK. Spot Custom! Because for the overwhelming majority of us, our college years were spent barely scraping together enough cash to keep the fridge stocked with Busch Light. To suddenly be thrust into paraphrase a life of open bars and free filets is understandably intoxicating. But it won’t last. Writing! As unlikely as it may seem at 22, you’ll eventually meet someone, move in together and maybe make some babies. Before you know it, human nature sets in, and the lure of free drinks and box seats won’t seem nearly as enticing as Netflix and a good night’s sleep. And when that day comes, a good part of what attracted to you to the Big 4 will be lost forever, along with your youth, innocence, and stable blood pressure. But until that day comes, there’s no harm in relishing in life, the Patrick Bateman lifestyle, minus the custom service, axe murders. Go the Big 4 and live it up.

Obviously, there are other things you’ve got to take into consideration: big city versus small town, the opportunity for niche services like MA or consulting at the Big 4, and mistakes life the potential for more work-life balance at a small firm (though I don’t necessarily see that to be the case). But keep an spot writing eye on the items discussed here, and you just might wind up happy with your first job. For a year or two. Then you’ll be ready to first dom essay, read this. Big 4 Choices choosing a firm Recruiting season Small firms Author Tony Nitti Posted on writing service, October 22, 2014 November 30, -0001 Categories Students Tags Big 4, Choices, choosing a firm, Recruiting season, Small firms. I’ve yet to be impressed with the first dom essay, work product I get from a small/local/national firm. Take that however you want. Tax return(s) filed by the deadline?

Audited F/S to the bank? Their purpose has been served. Have you ever crossed paths with GT? If your company is in spot custom service, one of GT’s CHOSEN MARKETS, their professionals will dazzle you with their INSTINCT FOR GROWTH and create a DYNAMIC work-product. I work for a large financial institution in internal audit and while I did think of going big 4, I am very glad I did not. I chose this route because of my interest in the field of paraphrase, banking, work life balance (I still work over custom writing service, 50 hours most weeks but no crazy busy season), and the compensation package.

I get to work on interesting projects (interesting as accounting work is) and I’m gainiging experience that will help me down the road make internal/external career moves. Paraphrase Helper! Not knocking Big4 but there are other options out there to have a challenging and service ultimately financially rewarding career in accounting. How cute. As a senior auditor in first dom essay, the banking/capital markets group of a B4 firm, I rarely if ever hit anywhere close to writing, the 50 hour mark outside of season – sounds like you either 1) got robbed, or 2) bought into the BS that we work ridiculous hours here. Despite the first dom essay, self-reported awful hours in audit, it usually simply isn’t the custom service, case so long as you have a competent manager with whom you can create an adequate audit plan ahead of time, and who doesn’t expect useless face time. Those are some big if’s. I have only helper, come across two of those managers in spot writing, 3 years of public and one of them was overruled by a dumb ass senior manager that felt face time was next to godliness.

I think you situation is the exception not the rule. I’ll give you that, my friend. Sometimes it’s also luck of the forced essay, draw on clients, since they want the facetime too, to spot custom, feel like our fees are justified. I don’t know where you’re at but we worked a shit ton of hours even outside busy season at forced volunteerism KPMG in the Southwest. Especially if you get a client with a 6/30 or 9/30 year end.

Also left KPMG for spot another Top 20 firm and I wasn’t going home before 7pm during “non-busy season” many many times. Paraphrase! Now that I’m in industry I really only work late 3 days a month, and life is grand. TL:DR “While I’d love to tell you this distinction is overblown, it’s simply not true. Because despite what I’ve been told by spot custom writing a long line of sympathetic yet clearly disappointed women, size really does matter.” If that’s the case then they should call ME Big12Veteran . Ouch… someone get me some cold water for that burn. What good is truth all that well-rounded experience and knowledge if you can’t use it to get a top position in the big leagues of writing, private industry?

A “great opportunity” that is first dom essay “fast moving” Sounds like something Chipman would like to answer with DYNAMIC and GROWTH. “Big leagues of custom, private industry”? Aren’t you the guy who always talks about B4 being your only job with no intentions of leaving? Talking about always, great exit opportunities when you don’t plan on taking them just adds another level to your douche-baggery. Service! As far as I can tell, the best thing about your life is posting on here like some kind of self appointed B4 guru. You got me. I’m so embarrassed.

Well the fact that you replied in 3 minutes kinda proves my point about your exciting life. In the literally thousands of forced, comments I’ve left on writing service, this esteemed site, I don’t think I’ve said one time that I have an exciting life. But rock on, bro. You must have a really exciting life if it gets your rocks off to anonymously pick internet fights with another anonymous person on pocket incident report, an accounting-related message board… Companies are probably lining up for your “profession judgment” with no audit manual!! Using your sample size example, there is spot custom writing a reason audit firms have audit manuals, and that’s for consistency across their engagements. Policy! How awful do you think it would be to be to writing service, explain to an inspection team where you tested 15 samples for book this daily control but another team at your firm tested 50 for a similar daily control?

There are plenty of areas to exercise your judgment on a B4 team, and spot custom writing service those are usually the truth win essay, areas that require judgment, such as estimates. Happily took an officer for a F200 company Rotational Program making 15% more than what Big 4 pays starting out around here. There’s more than one path to the top. That’s what, $7,500-$8,200 per year as starting pay? I’ve known plenty of people who did such 2 year programs: they rotate you and try and spot writing service pigeon-hole you into one singular role…I’ve got plenty of friends who did that song and dance then decided it wasn’t for first dom essay them and writing service weren’t able to get anything more than a senior accountant role anywhere else. Pocket! Meanwhile there’s people I know who are leaving Big-4 with 4 years experience getting job offers in the $90k to $110k range. I’ll take that 45% – 50% pay increase after four years over that starting 15% and whatever marginal increase you get in that time period any day. Lots of people want to custom writing service, argue the essay, merits / advantages of Big 4 experience. I’ll say this: it may not always help, but it sure as hell will never hurt either.

Those really good private industry positions just about custom service, require measurable Big-4 experience, and even if they don’t the people who have the final say certainly weigh Big-4 experience higher than just about pocket incident report book, any other. The intern rotation program trumps the Big4. Interns are preselected and trained from the bottom up. If your rotation strands you in spot custom, a senior accountant role, then you said no more than 2 times to a transfer. Forced Volunteerism! Or you were given a thumbs down as an intern. Interns that make it through the custom writing service, rotation program are always selected first from forced, a list of spot writing, new roles that open up on first dom essay, a specific career ladder. Spot Custom Service! The Big4 is never on forced volunteerism, that list.

These interns represent the future face of the organization. They are trained to know the organization in a specific manner and the probability is that they will spend a majority of their career at the organization. “but it sure as hell will never hurt either.” I think this statement is false. It hurts every season. having been a partner in a national firm and 3 regional firms; there is NO question of this: the big 4 and the mid-tier firms put firm first, client second. They need to spot writing service, do this because of liability and the public market they serve.

Forget being entrepreneurial. it is ALL ABOUT risk management and first dom essay process, process, process. Regional firms will put the client in the center. Spot Custom! Very entrepreneurial, whilst still adhering to first dom essay, standards. Salary and/or draw at the partner level? Likely higher in the big firms, but at what personal cost? If you like work/life balance and spot can live on first dom essay, $600k annually, and service up to $750k, then the well run, regional firm of size (200 or more professionals) is the only way to go, long term. It is all about what you want and who you are. You form your “professional career DNA” in your twenties going into your thirties. Your choice. No surprise, my experience as a partner in a national firmed sucked. Care to talk actual partner income levels between the regional and national firm?

Being this would first hand knowledge, although as rare as a unicorn on this board, it might add more to your thoughts above. And I also came to the conclusion that you were actually a partner , based solely on the comment “If you like work/life balance and can live on $600k annually……”. I can only speak as someone looking in from private industry: My company’s controller and paraphrase another director are Big 4 alums with their CPA licenses. Service! They got in the door for my company pretty easily because of their Big 4 credentials and having the license. The CPA from a Big 4 does not guarantee the job offer, but it does open the doors for first dom essay you to make the sales pitch. The caveat is spot custom service we do not have anyone from the Big 4 without the CPA license. Are they from the same firm? And how long did they stay?

I notice that they don’t stay long in the same position if they are not sitting in a top dog role. But when they do get a top dog role, then it is almost impossible to paraphrase helper, get them to transfer. (F500) They came from different firms. They are into their 3rd and 1st year, respectively. “say what you want about the Big 4, but they have wonderful, formalized training programs.” That’s a myth. The training is spot service done by seniors and managers reading slides to helper, a roomful of staff.

It’s the blind leading the custom service, blind. Real training is essay mistakes one-on-one, on-the-job training delivered by someone who knows how to develop talent (and use mouthwash). Disagree. You’re confusing training with professional skills development. The purpose of training is to learn methodology, to spot, learn technical GAAP, and to learn other essentials that no one has time to teach you in the field. If a manager has enough time to sit down and teach you the specifics of proper revenue rec or pension accounting, then you’re losing efficiency that most can’t afford to lose.

Hey, I know we still have 6 hours of work to do this evening, but let’s take an hour and lean some technical accounting. That doesn’t happen – training is the first dom essay, place where you learn this. Nonsense. A manager who won’t make time to teach technical accounting to staff on the job is saving one hour and losing 16 hours down the line when he has to clean up the stuff they would have gotten right if he’d bothered to service, teach them. Everyone knows the purpose of training programs is to pocket report, travel to a different city for a week or two every year, party ballz, shirk client responsibilities, and try to phone it in from 9-5 during training that week while running up a giant tab that would make MITT ROMNEY blush at the weekly happy hour and/or nightly dinners, all the while dreaming up bullshit to pitch to your s/o about why you can’t answer their phone calls each night (hint: it includes getting f-ed up each night and spot writing regretting your choices in the morning). Good times… I for first dom essay one am glad to find out service, I did my new-hire training the right way. If you don’t go B4 you should just end your life. Or work at Starbucks.

Putting a lot of weight on truth, a stupid accounting job aren’t we? Cool. I knew when I didn’t receive a B4 offer that my instincts of writing service, suicide were correct. Forced Essay! See you on the other side. For as long as there is spot custom a B4, there will be the B4 circlejerk. It’s the B4’s whole recruiting strategy. The winds are shifting though, and people are wising up. No one told Tony Nitti that the first dom essay, non-B4 are sending their new hires to the exact same Q-Center in St. Charles as AA did and spot writing service EY still does; and no one told him the non-B4 start earlier in the day, end later, and have more instructors per student; they also have more days of on foreign policy of us, instruction, and even party harder at the Clubhouse.

The non-B4 firms also always win closest to the pin. Anyone who knows public accounting knows that the B4 is full of hot air when it comes to spot service, out-training smaller firms. BDO, GT, Crowe, etc., all provide better, more personalized training, and first dom essay like Nitti says, it’s one-on-one and more effective. I get it. Service! B4’ers bought in, and need to perpetuate the report book, circlejerk in order to justify their poor decisions. I just think it’s bad that they lead astray impressionable college students. Service! The fact is, the non-B4 firms that are growing much faster offer a much better value proposition to college students: you are much more likely to make partner at essays on foreign of us Crowe or BDO than EY or PWC. Spot Custom Writing! They just have better opportunities because they are adding more partners and more offices much more quickly. Clients are wising up too. The B4’ers can continue to jerk themselves off as to how great they are, and meanwhile the smaller firms will continue to siphon off clients because when it comes down to it, they’re offering a better value proposition than the B4: an equally good product, with better service, for a lower price. With the exception of myself, the essay, non-B4 also have fewer insufferable and pretentious staff, which is nice.

B4 is kinda like the really hot girl in school. Writing! You really want her to essay life, like you and go on a date with you. Spot Custom! You dream of first dom essay, how great it will be. But, when it happens, she turns out to spot custom writing, be a bitch and a lousy lay. But you will get many other dates because they saw that the incident, hottie they idolize dated you. lmao I love this analogy.

What would the author suggest for those not receiving B4 offers ? Should one take what they can get with the hopes of eventually working for B4? Or is it better to cut your losses and spot service move on to another field while you still can? Dude…Big 4 are shedding people like crazy as the incident book, economy picks up. It’s pretty easy to go from spot custom writing service, Mid tier to Big 4 after like 2 years. When I see resumes for open accounting positions without Big 4 experience, I ask if them if they are interested in a position that better fits their skill set, such as working in AP or at pocket book the front desk answering the spot custom, phones. More accounting majors need to just skip audit/tax and go into advisory, management consulting, finance, F500 rotational programs.

Much better fields.

In being merciful, we are reflections of God’s Love. Mother Theresa of Calcutta devoted her life to help the dying, who were outcasts and rejected by everyone else. God’s realm of love, righteousness, truth and justice challenges systems built on the opposite values of power, greed, oppression, falsehood, and the exploitation of others and the creation. And especially don’t use Brush Script, which has been so overused that it now looks cheap and dated rather than retro and pocket report book nostalgic (it was designed in 1942). While certain creative industries will offer some leeway in playing with the appearance of your resume, when in doubt, it’s always a safe bet to service stick to conservative font choices (which means no scripts or other display fonts). Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past several years, you’ll know that using Comic Sans is considered the first dom essay cardinal sin of font choices. It was created in spot custom writing, 1994 to replicate the look of comic book speech bubbles, and incident that’s about all it’s appropriate for. The casual, almost childish look of the font makes it distracting in any serious context.

And in spot service, case you’re wondering why anyone would use Comic Sans on forced volunteerism, a resume, according to this manager, it does happen. Custom? Just remember: it’s a good rule of thumb to always stay far away from any font that might possibly come across as fun, flowery, flashy, or funky. Century Gothic has a sleek, modern look, but it’s probably a little too irregular for resumes. Additionally, the thin letters of this font’s regular weight can be hard to read, particularly at small sizes. There’s really no good reason anyone should want to use this on a resume, but people seem to like it. So if you’re tempted to give your resume an adventurous or exotic air with Papyrus, resist. This font is so cliche (probably second only to writing Comic Sans) that is has become something of a joke — Fast Co. Design puts it this way: “as everyone who has written a school project over the last decade will tell you, Papyrus is the paraphrase font you use to spell out the word #8220;Egypt.#8221; Want to make a bold, confident impression with your resume?

You don’t need a bold, heavy font to do it. Impact is most likely intended for spot service, use in essay, all caps for headlines, but because it includes lowercase letters, people are sure to use it for body copy, where it’s almost impossible to read. Yes, Trajan Pro has a dignified, important feel, but it would be more appropriate etched into stone than typed on your resume. That’s because the typeface was inspired by the letterforms carved into Trajan’s Column, a monument dedicated to the Roman emperor of the spot same name. The font only has capital letters and small caps (no lowercase option), which makes it unsuitable for truth always win essay, typing out readable sentences on spot custom service, your resume.

So it’s probably a good idea to volunteerism leave Trajan to the movie posters (more than 400 of spot custom service, them), particularly those starring Russell Crowe. For resumes, a font size of 10 to 12 pt. (depending on the particular font, but no smaller than that) is standard. Larger sizes are acceptable for headings or subheadings. Remember that everyone viewing your resume on a computer will have different fonts installed, and you don’t want your carefully chosen typeface automatically replaced with a substitute that messes up the truth always win essay document’s appearance and formatting. That’s why it’s a good idea to always save and send your resume as a PDF, which preserves the original appearance (unlike a MS Word document). Childhood Obesity — The Shape of Things to custom writing service Come. David S. Ludwig, M.D., Ph.D. N Engl J Med 2007; 357:2325-2327 December 6, 2007 DOI: 10.1056/NEJMp0706538. Interview with David Ludwig on the impact of the childhood obesity epidemic. (6:01) Last week, I met with the G. family in first dom essay the Optimal Weight for Life (OWL) clinic at my hospital. Spot Custom Service? One of the parents was overweight, and the other was obese. The five children were more severely obese and had numerous weight-related complications — one had evidence of fatty liver, one had high blood pressure, two had gastroesophageal reflux, two had orthopedic problems, three had marked insulin resistance, four had dyslipidemia, and all had emotional problems related to their weight. Sadly, this family might be a microcosm of 21st-century America: if we don't take steps to reverse course, the children of truth, each successive generation seem destined to be fatter and sicker than their parents. Custom? How will obesity affect the physical and psychological well-being of children in coming decades? What effects will childhood obesity have on life expectancy, the national economy, and our society? To explore these questions, one might view the obesity epidemic as consisting of four overlapping phases.

Phase 1 began in the early 1970s and is ongoing: average weight is first dom essay, progressively increasing among children from all socioeconomic levels, racial and ethnic groups, and regions of the country. Today, about one in three children and adolescents is overweight (with a body-mass index, or BMI, in the 85th to 95th percentile for age and sex) or obese (BMI above the 95th percentile), and the proportion approaches one in two in certain minority groups. 1 Though it has attracted much attention from the medical profession and the public, childhood obesity during this phase has actually had little effect on public health, because an obese child may remain relatively healthy for years. Phase 2, which we are now entering, is spot writing, characterized by the emergence of serious weight-related problems. 2 The incidence of type 2 diabetes among adolescents, though still not high, has increased by a factor of more than 10 in the past two decades and report book, may now exceed that of spot writing service, type 1 diabetes among black and Hispanic adolescents. Fatty liver associated with excessive weight, unrecognized in the pediatric literature before 1980, today occurs in about one in three obese children.

Other obesity-related complications affecting virtually every organ — ranging from crippling orthopedic problems to sleep apnea — are being diagnosed with increasing frequency in children (see table Complications of Childhood Obesity. ). There is also a heavy psychosocial toll: obese children tend to be socially isolated and have high rates of disordered eating, anxiety, and depression. When they reach adulthood, they are less likely than their thinner counterparts to complete college and are more likely to live in poverty. It may take many years to reach phase 3 of the epidemic, in which the medical complications of obesity lead to life-threatening disease. On Foreign? As Baker et al. Custom Writing Service? (pages 2329–2337) and Bibbins-Domingo et al. (pages 2371–2379) report in this issue of the Journal, overweight or obesity in essays on foreign policy childhood or adolescence increases the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) in adulthood; by 2035, Bibbins-Domingo et al. predict, the custom service prevalence of CHD will have increased by 5 to 16%, with more than 100,000 excess cases attributable to increased obesity among today's adolescents. Preliminary data from truth always, Canada suggest that adolescents with type 2 diabetes will be at high risk for limb amputation, kidney failure requiring dialysis, and premature death.

In some, fatty liver will progress to hepatitis and cirrhosis, which may remain asymptomatic until irreversible organ damage has occurred. Poverty and social isolation would complicate the timely identification and management of such problems. Shockingly, the spot custom writing service risk of dying by middle age is already two to three times as high among obese adolescent girls as it is among those of normal weight, even after other lifestyle factors are taken into account. 3 My colleagues and I have predicted that pediatric obesity may shorten life expectancy in the United States by 2 to 5 years by midcentury — an effect equal to that of all cancers combined. 4. Without effective intervention, phase 4 of the first dom essay epidemic will entail an acceleration of the obesity rate through transgenerational mechanisms.

Obese children tend to be heavy in spot writing adulthood, in part because obesity-promoting habits persist. In addition, carrying excessive weight early in life may elicit irreversible biologic changes in hormonal pathways, fat cells, and the brain that increase hunger and adversely affect metabolism. Furthermore, adult obesity and its complications appear to increase the risk of obesity and its complications in offspring through nongenetic influences, a phenomenon termed perinatal programming. For example, a recent study found that maternal hyperglycemia during pregnancy strongly predicted BMI in offspring at 5 to 7 years of age, after adjustment for maternal weight gain and birth weight. 5. Currently, the economic costs of pediatric obesity in the United States are relatively small — probably several hundred million dollars annually. Without effective intervention, the costs of obesity might well become catastrophic, arising not only from escalating medical expenses but also from diminished worker productivity, caused by physical and psychological disabilities.

Future economic losses could mean the difference between solvency and bankruptcy for Medicare, between expanding and shrinking health care coverage, and essay mistakes, between investment in and neglect of our social infrastructure, with profound implications for our international competitiveness. The human costs would be incalculable. Like global warming, the custom writing obesity epidemic is first dom essay, a looming crisis that requires action before all the scientific evidence is in. And as with climate change, some have questioned experts' forecasts, doubting the far-reaching impact of obesity, though skepticism is gradually being overcome by accumulating data. Others would defer concerted efforts to address the problem, placing hope in the development of new drugs or surgical procedures that, like some abundant and nonpolluting energy source, might offer a painless technological fix. Or they argue that the costs of action are too great, not recognizing that our survival depends on solving the problem. But I believe that obesity differs in one important respect from global warming: simple solutions are available, and with a comprehensive national strategy, we may be able to implement them without great sacrifice. Certainly, we have much to learn about the regulation of body weight.

Low-fat diets have yielded disappointing results, and very-low-carbohydrate diets appear to be more effective only in the short term. Novel approaches that focus on spot writing service the quality rather than the ratio of essay, macronutrients appear promising, and other areas warrant study, including the effects of sleep deprivation, stress, infectious agents, and endocrine-disrupting environmental toxins on weight. Unfortunately, the U.S. government has thus far invested only a fraction of a cent in research for every dollar that obesity costs society. And although broad consensus exists regarding the dietary and lifestyle habits needed to prevent and treat childhood obesity, we lack anything resembling a comprehensive strategy for encouraging children to eat a healthful diet and engage in physical activity. Such a strategy would include legislation that regulates junk-food advertising, provides adequate funding for decent lunches and regular physical activities at spot writing, school, restructures the farm-subsidies program to favor nutrient-dense rather than calorie-dense produce, and mandates insurance coverage for preventing and treating pediatric obesity. Parents must take responsibility for their children's welfare by providing high-quality food, limiting television viewing, and modeling a healthful lifestyle. But why should Mr. and Ms.

G.'s efforts to protect their children from pocket book, life-threatening illness be undermined by massive marketing campaigns from the manufacturers of junk food? Why are their children subjected to the temptation of such food in spot custom writing service the school cafeteria and vending machines? Why don't they have the opportunity to essay mistakes life exercise their bodies during the school day? And why must Mr. and custom, Ms. G. fight with their insurance company for of us reimbursement to cover the costs of their children's care at spot custom writing, the OWL clinic? Fortunately, with the exercise of both personal and report book, social responsibility, we have the power to choose the shape of things to come. An interview with Dr. Ludwig can be heard at service, Dr.
